Our Viking Shields are available with a blank finish ready for you to paint your own designs, or pre-painted with Viking and Saxon motifs. They are constructed in a range of different materials such as hardwood, canvas and steel. Our Round Rotella Shields are not strictly from the Viking period, but when durability is more important than historical accuracy, the addition of a shield boss and some paint can result in a very robust Viking style shield. We also sell Norman Kite Shields that were introduced towards the end of the Viking era.

7" Viking Shield Boss - 14 gauge

Increase the protective power of your shield - and chances of surviving battle - with the Traditional Shield Boss. This steel shield boss easily attaches to most shields and makes it easier to deflect the blows of your opponents.

Made of 14 gauge steel, the functional shield boss has a raised dome at the center, its rounded surface helping defend the center of a shield from devastating strikes. Four drilled holes along the perimeter make it easy to attach to flat shields or bucklers. It does not come with screws.

The Traditional Shield Boss is a great DIY or replacement piece and is the perfect accessory for any medieval, Viking, or Roman shield.
