Many Vikings considered their helmet as much a status symbol as a means of protection. Our embossed Viking helmet is a very impressive model. Made of 18 gauge steel, it is also decorated with elaborate ornamentation. The bowl and nose guard are both embossed with elaborate knot patterns and each of the movable cheek pieces is decorated with a stylized Celtic dog.

The adjustable liner improves this embossed Viking helmet's wearing comfort and enables it to fit a variety of head sizes. The helmet stays on your head thanks to the leather chinstrap and buckle.

Constructed of hard leather and banded steel, this early Norman helmet has side suede face guards, a large steel nasal guard and a soft adjustable liner.

The nasal bar was designed to protect the face but meant that Knights were often unrecognisable. The famous Bayeux Tapestry shows William the Conqueror tipping his helmet back to reveal his face and prove to his soldiers that he was still alive!

Our Horse Lords helmet is based on the helmets mounted nomadic archers wore on the Eurasian steppes in ancient and medieval times - but bears a striking resemblance to those worn by the Riders or Rohan in The Lord of the Rings. The bowl of the helmet is made of coated steel and the nose guard is made of antiqued brass.

Our Horse Lords' Helmet has a protective aventail at the back, and the decorative crest is made of genuine horsehair. You can adjust the leather liner to make the helmet more comfortable to wear, and you can fasten it securely under your chin using the leather strap and buckle. Regardless of what the horse is doing, this helmet will stay on every mounted archer's head! Made from 18 gauge carbon steel.
